چکیده

Several recent articles [l]-[3] have discussed the use ofLagrange polynomials for band-limited signal estimation. We find errorbounds when using Lagrange polynomials for interpolation and extra-polation of finite-power band-limited signals if a finite number of regularlyspaced noisy samples are used. I. INTR~DUC~ONSuppose f(t) has a (2N + 1)st derivative and the samplesf(tk) are given, for 0 5 k 5 2N. The Lagrange polynomialand error term that pass through the f(tk) points and used toestimatef(t) for points other than tk are given by [4] f(t) = 2 f(tk) w0 w(t)+ (2N + l)! f (2N+1)(U) (1)k=OW ’(tk)(ttk) where w(t) = (t to)(t tl) . l . (t t2N) and u is somepoint in the smallest interval containing t and [t0,t2N]. If eachsample f(tk) contains an error &k;, then the system error e(t) inreconstructing f(t) from the Lagrange polynomial is 2Ne(t) = c ek40w(t) f ‘(2N+ 1’(u). (2)k=OWl(tk)(ttk) + (2N + l)! The first term .of (2) is called the channel errorterm of (2) is called the truncation error. We shall consider as a deterministic signalbounded by M, which can be represented bywhile the second

A Novel DOA Estimation Approach for Unknown Coherent Source Groups with Coherent Signals

In this paper, a new combination of Minimum Description Length (MDL) or Eigenvalue Gradient Method (EGM), Joint Approximate Diagonalization of Eigenmatrices (JADE) and Modified Forward-Backward Linear Prediction (MFBLP) algorithms is proposed which determines the number of non-coherent source groups and estimates the Direction Of Arrivals (DOAs) of coherent signals in each group. First, the MDL...

ESTIMATION AND DETECTION OF SIGNALS IN MULTIPLICATIVE NOISE by co d

4 c We define a class of detection-estimation problems on matrix Lie groups O in which the observation noise is multiplicative in nature. By examining 0 rj the differential versions of the hypotheses, which are bilinear in 0 "nature, we are able to derive the relevant likelihood ratio formula U and the associated optimal estimation equations for the signal given P Pn the observations and the as...

An upper bound on the mean-square error for Bayesian parameter estimators (Corresp.)

The estimation of unknown parameters of deterministic time-varying signals contaminated with additive Gausaian white noise is considered, and an upper bound is obtained for the mean-square estimation error. As an example, the theory is applied to the synchronous demodulation of pulse frequency-modulated (PFM) signals in Gaussian white noise. Manuscript received July 3, 1975; revised January 5, ...

Spread-spectrum watermarking of audio signals

Watermarking has become a technology of choice for a broad range of multimedia copyright protection applications. Watermarks have also been used to embed formatindependent metadata in audio/video signals, in a way that is robust to common editing. In this paper, we present several novel mechanisms for effective encoding and detection of directsequence spread-spectrum watermarks in audio signals...

A New Method for Detection of Backscattered Signals from Breast Cancer Tumors: Hypothesis Testing Using an Adaptive Entropy-Based Decision Function

Introduction In recent years methods based on radio frequency waves have been used for detecting breast cancer. Using theses waves leads to better results in early detection of breast cancer comparing with conventional mammography which has been used during several years. Materials and Methods In this paper, a new method is introduced for detection of backscattered signals which are received by...
